2014_)2 Walter Scott Monument 2

Police cordoned off an area around the Scott Monument in Princes Street this afternoon whilst they attempted to talk to the woman who was threatening to jump.

Princes street was closed to traffic in both directions and tram services terminated at the West End as officers dealt with the situation.

Police Scotland have now confirmed that the incident has been resolved.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: “Police attended Princes Street following reports of concern for the safety of a woman on the Scott Monument.”
Traffic has now returned to normal.
