This weekend the racing at Musselburgh will be sponsored by Caledonian Brewery who will have a brand new beer on tap for you to try. The Caledonian Beer Festival is expected to attract a large crowd including many families.

The new beer being launched at the racecourse this Saturday is the new Black lager called Dark Light, and you can sample it in the Beer Festival marquee.

There will be seven races including three fast-paced harness races, entertainment from the Caledonian Brewery Pipe Band, a rousing ceilidh band and street style food.

Sarah Montgomery, Senior Operations and Commercial Manager at Musselburgh Racecourse said: “The Caledonian Brewery Raceday just keeps getting bigger and better.

“What better way to enjoy the thrill of some top quality racing than while sipping on the best beer in Edinburgh?

“We want our visitors to have the usual fantastic day out and with live music, harness racing and a buzzing atmosphere there is something for everyone. We’re even showing the St Leger live from Doncaster. All in all, we can’t wait to open the gates and hope to welcome many first time visitors.”

Tickets are available on the day at £25 (£15 concession), with the doors opening at 12.30pm and the last race getting underway at 7.30pm. A host of packages ages are also available to be booked in advance, including fish and chips, Pommery Pop or Aberdeen Angus Burger & Beer, all from £40 per person via www.musselburgh-racecourse.co.uk.
