The search continues for missing French student Antoine Maury  who has been missing since Monday evening, and tomorrow, specially trained officers will be assisted by Antoine’s parents, Pascal and Laura Maury, as well as a number of public volunteers.
The search effort will likely be concentrated in the area of Holyrood Park and anyone who wishes to participate is asked to meet at 11am within the car park at Holy Rood High School on Duddingston Road West.

Officers will then allocate search teams to specific areas over the course of the day although volunteers can come and go as they please.

Some of this activity will be on rough terrain and not suitable for prams and buggies.

Antoine has been missing since 10.30pm on Monday, October 24th, when he suddenly left his friends at Edinburgh College’s Milton Road East Campus.

He is believed to have been seen later that evening between 10.45pm and 11pm near to the Duddingston Village area of Holyrood Park, heading into the park.

The man, who matched the 21-year-old’s description, was seen topless, and officers are continuing to keep an open mind in relation to his clothing.

Inspector Alan Carson of the Edinburgh Division said: “The response from the public since Antoine’s disappearance has been fantastic.

“So many people have expressed a willingness to help find him as quickly as possible and I know that his family are extremely grateful for the support of the people of Edinburgh.

“Those who are intending to help with our search activity on Saturday are asked to wrap up warm and wear suitable clothing. We want to make sure that any activity is conducted in a coordinated and safe manner.

“Please also make sure that you have a fully charged mobile phone with you and some snacks to help you throughout the day.”
