Police are appealing for information after two break-ins and a theft in Penicuik.

The first incident happened overnight  where a garage in Lawhead Place, Penicuik was broken into and two mountain bikes were stolen.

The second incident occurred around 4am this morning when two males were seen attempting to break-in to a garage in Rullion Road Penicuik.

The males were disturbed and made off. No property was stolen.

They are described as white, medium build and wearing black hooded tops

A red Yamaha motorbike was stolen from Carnethy Avenue, Penicuik at some point between 1.30am and 8am on Thursday 20th October.

Police are now investigating these incidents and are appealing for information.

Sergeant Michele Lindsay from Penicuik Police Station said: “Our enquiries into all incidents are ongoing and we are pursuing various lines of inquiry.

“However given the nature of the offences and proximity we cannot rule out the possibility that they are linked.

I would ask anyone who remembers seeing anything suspicious in these areas, or who has information that can assist with our ongoing inquiries, to come forward.

“Home owners are reminded to ensure they have all the necessary security measures in and around their property such as robust locks, alarm systems and appropriate lighting.
