A police investigation is underway after a 49-year-old man suffered a broken hip in an attack by three men as he walked home in Union Drive, Whitburn, West Lothian around 11.30pm last Monday.
Detective Constable Krista Tench said: “This appears to have been an unprovoked attack which left the victim with a painful hip injury that required treatment in hospital.
“Our enquiries to identify the suspects are ongoing and anyone who recognises their description, or who saw anything suspicious in Union Street during the early hours of Monday, January 2, should contact police immediately.”
Police said the second man was also in his 20s and was around 5ft 10in. He was of medium build, has dark brown hair and was wearing a light-coloured T-shirt and dark trousers.
The third suspect is described as 5ft 11in with a medium build and was wearing a dark green hooded top with dark trousers.
Anyone with information relating to the street attack is asked to contact the police on 101.
