Police have arrested a second male in connection with the death of Shaun Woodburn.

Officers were called to Great Junction Street around 2am on Sunday 1 January after receiving reports of a disturbance. Shaun, aged 30, sustained serious injuries and was taken to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary where he sadly died later that day.

A 16-year-old male was previously charged with murder.

The 17-year-old male is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Friday 25 March.

Detective Inspector Stuart Alexander of Police Scotland’s Major Investigation Team said:”We are committed to pursuing every possible line of enquiry as part of our ongoing investigation into Shaun’s death, and our condolences remain with his family and friends.”
