Hearts have announced that when the new main stand opens in September, the club will reinstate ‘Tynecastle Park’ as the official name of the new-look ground.

When Tynecastle was redeveloped in the mid-1990s, it was renamed ‘Tynecastle Stadium’, a move which received a mixed reception from fans, particularly the older generation of Hearts supporters.

Now Hearts say they will honour the club’s long and storied heritage by reverting to ‘Tynecastle Park’ in September.

Meanwhile, Hearts entertain Partick Thistle at Tynecastle – whichever version you prefer – in the Ladbrokes Premiership on Saturday. Kick-off is at 3.00pm.
