Hibs last away game of the season ended with a comprehensive 4-0 victory over relegation candidates Ayr United at Somerset Park this afternoon.

After making ten changes in midweek, Neil Lennon made eight changes today, bringing back many of his first team regulars.

Only Ross Laidlaw, Jordon Forster and Chris Humphrey survived the ‘cull’

Hibs started brightly and Jason Cummings almost opened the scoring in the 3rd minute but after rounding the keeper, his shot rebounded off the post.

The league’s top scorer wasn’t to be denied for long then in the 28th minute John McGinnĀ sent a dinked cross which Ā Cummings headed into the net.

In theĀ second half, McGinn, Boyle and Ā Humphrey all went close with long range efforts before Holt was unlucky not to connect with a cut back inside the area.

Hibs added a third in the 66th minute when Cummings set up substitute James Keatings who slid the ball through the legs of Fleming then the pair combined again moments later when Keatings found Cummings with a superb through ball and the youngster scored his second of the day.

Hibs face St Mirren at Easter Road next Saturday where they will be presented with the Championship trophy.
