Hibs’ long serving defender Lewis Stevenson says he is fresh and ready to go if selected against Ayr United this afternoon.

Stevenson was one of ten changes made by Neil Lennon for the midweek game against Raith Rovers after the tough Scottish Cup semi-final defeat to Aberdeen and he is determined to end the season on a high.

He also praised the fringe players and youngsters who took over on Wednesday night and recorded a 3-2 victory.

He told Hibernian TV: “I feel fresh and ready to go. I was there on Wednesday night watching and the boys who played did brilliant. We have a strong squad and it showed that any of these players are ready to come in and the team won’t be weakened at all.

“Sometimes you need a break, physically and mentally. Big games like semi-finals can take it out of you but we still have  about of work to do as we want to get as many points as possible and we I am looking forward to the game against Ayr on Saturday.

“It will be a tough test. They beat us at home but we played well the last time we were down there and we want to keep that going.

“They are fighting for their lives and we will treat them with a lot of respect but we want to have a good points total at the end of the season as we have had too many draws this season.”
