Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline, has now started operating 11 new routes to regional France and Italy from Edinburgh Airport through its new weekend leisure hub at Southampton.

The seasonal flights operate each weekend through to 3 September 2017 as part of the airline’s 2017 Summer schedule

Operating on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the summer, most of these routes are brand new services to some of Europe’s most sought-after holiday destinations – Avignon, Biarritz, Bordeaux, Brest, La Rochelle, Limoges, Nantes, Perpignan-Rivesaltes, Rennes, Toulon-Hyères and Verona.

Flybe’s weekend leisure hub not only gives regional passengers some extra choice but also the opportunity to seamlessly connect through Southampton to their final destination with the minimum of fuss and with just one initial check-in at Edinburgh Airport.

The airline’s schedule is tailored to ensure that the connecting time at Southampton is kept to an absolute minimum and, from wheels up to touchdown, passengers will reach their final destination within a few hours. For example, a flight departing Edinburgh for Nantes at 13:05 on Saturday will connect through Southampton to arrive just three and a half hours later.

Vincent Hodder, Flybe’s Chief Revenue Officer comments: “We are delighted to introduce the new Southampton leisure hub to our Scottish passengers this summer. It further enhances the ever growing number of connections available to our customers wanting to enjoy fast, convenient travel farther afield from their local airport.”
