Edinburgh’s five star visitor attraction Dynamic Earth has announced several polar themed events for families to enjoy over the summer.

Pictured with the penguins is four year old Ava Wright from Edinburgh.

Running from the 1 July to the 27 August 2017, youngsters will have the opportunity to become polar explorers. They will be able to test themselves against the tough environment of both poles by taking part in fun and interactive demonstrations and activities.

Visitors can also look forward to the green screen photo booth, which allows families to dress up in a realistic polar explorer kit and head to Antarctica with some cuddly penguin pals. The photos will be posted onto the Dynamic Earth Facebook page, meaning visitors can share their experience with family and friends.

Dynamic Earth’s purpose is to educate and entertain both young and old. As part of the admission price visitors can enjoy the interactive family science shows four times daily and which are held on the centre’s top deck.

As part of the polar-themed summer, young visitors can look forward to activities such as arts and crafts tables, which Dynamic Earth hopes will encourage youngsters to get creative.

Penguin Nights is returning this summer after its success over Easter.

This cinematic experience is an opportunity to enjoy an exciting, immersive look into the lives of penguins and the work of researcher Ron Naveen and his team.

Eilidh Massie, head of marketing at Dynamic Earth said : “We are fascinated by the poles here at Dynamic Earth. Our permanent polar extremes gallery is a firm favourite with visitors of all ages, so we always enjoy putting on extra activities for families to enjoy.

“We’re extremely excited to welcome back The Penguin Counters,an important and entertaining film assessing the impact of climate change on our favourite polar birds. We expect these screenings to be a sell out so grab your tickets before it’s too late!”
