Hibs’ Head Coach Neil Lennon was delighted with his team’s performance last night as Hibs hammered Arbroath at Easter Road thanks to a Simon Murray hat-trick, two goals from Ryan Porteous and a John McGinn strike.
He is also happy with the club’s transfer dealings ahead of the forthcoming season.

After the game Lennon said: ““We were ruthless and scored some great goals. Simon Murray is playing well. His hat-trick will do him the world of good. He scored all sorts of different goals tonight.”

He also revealed that Lithuanian internationalist Vykintas Slivka who watched the game from the West Stand is set to join Hibs on a three-year deal from Juventus today.

The midfielder who has won 19 caps was expected to sign a one year loan deal however Hibs have persuaded him and Juventus to agree a permanent deal.

He added:  “Vykintas Slivka should get his clearance tomorrow. Instead of a loan, his deal will now be a permanent three years deal.

“We are just waiting on the confirmation of that. I think he is a decent player and, while he might take a bit of time to bed in, I think it is a good bit of business.

“His contract at Juventus was coming to an end and we liked the idea of a permanent move.”

Lennon also that Hibs have received international clearance for Slivka’s international team mate Deivydas Matulevicius following his arrival from Belgian side Royal Mouscroun and talks are ongoing with Scottish Cup Final hero Anthony Stokes who whas been released by Blackburn.

He continued: “Deivydas Matulevicius’ paperwork has also come through from the Belgian FA and talks with Anthony Stokes are ongoing.”
