Alexander Fox as Ringo | Pleasance Garden-1700

Alexander Fox is a first time performer at the Edinburgh Fringe but he had a packed audience in an “igloo” at the Pleasance, and he didn’t let them down.

His show is based on the subjects of drumming, his father and more drumming. To begin with, this 55-year-old reporter was impressed to know that his father was the drummer in Haircut 100!

If there was ever a show in which a performer won the audience over by just being a lovely young man then this may have been it. However, that should not undersell the hard work and professionalism that have gone into the show.

Alexander’s use of the audience was excellent as he had a charming way of creating characters out of the audience.

He is, as you may see, a heck of a drummer. Yes, he does “In the Air tonight” and “Total Eclipse of the Heart”.

You also develop a serious appreciation of the drumming of Ringo Starr.

But most of all you have an appreciation of a lovely young man whose journey from fragile schoolboy drummer to fringe performer is a delight. Even as you depart, Alexander thanks every single person for coming to see his show.

Oh…and we think Alexander is the world’s best Pingu impersonator that we have ever heard and seen. Infact we think the girlfriend as Pingu was the highlight of the show.

We heartily recommend this show.
