If you buy a burger at The Boozy Cow then you could be helping to save the Asian Elephant.

The business is owned by Garreth Wood and since 2014 all profits from The Boozy Cow have been donated to charity.

In the last financial year £210,000 was donated to charity from all 18 outlets across Scotland through The Boozy Cow Foundation.

Now Garreth and wife Nicola are going on an expedition to help save Asian elephants in Rajasthan and Hardeep Singh Kohli has created an Indian inspired burger which will be added to the menu for a limited time only.

The VindaCoo has Vindaloo pulled pork in it. For every VindaCoo which is sold Garreth and Nicola will pledge an extra £5 to the charity Elephant Family.

Nicola Wood said : “The launch of the Vindacoo across the Boozy Cow restaurants will offer our wonderful customers an authentic and mouth-watering taste of some of India’s most popular spices, thanks to Hardeep’s inspired recipe.

“As an added bonus from their purchase, they will also have helped support the future of the magnificent Asian Elephant and all of the great charities which benefit from The Boozy Cow Foundation.”

Garreth and Nicola set off this month riding in a 3-wheeler motorised rickshaw across Rajasthan to help the Elephant Family charity raise £1 million. The charity was set up by the late Mark Stand who visited Edinburgh a few years back with some animal friends.

Garreth Wood said : “Nicola and I were so inspired by the conservation work of our late friend Mark Shand that we were delighted to join this exciting mission to help raise vital funds to continue his legacy.

“We are very much looking forward to setting off on our adventure and look forward to sharing our story with everyone at home.”
