Hearts owner Ann Budge has admitted that Sunday’s Ladbrokes Premiership game with Partick Thistle at Tynecastle remains in doubt. The game was due to see the opening of Hearts new stand, but City of Edinburgh Council officials have not yet issued a Safety Certificate.

Council officials met with Hearts construction management team on Friday morning but were unable to issue the certificate required. However, another inspection is scheduled for Saturday at 12 noon.

Mrs Budge issued a statement on Hearts official website late on Friday afternoon which said, “I cannot, at this time, definitively say ‘yes’ but I can say that every indication points to the game going ahead. Everyone at the club is working flat out, on the assumption that the game will go ahead.”

Hearts will announce the outcome as soon as possible after Saturday’s inspection.
