Boarded beyond belief.

Surf Manchu – the Rock band allegedly bringing some California sunshine to one of the coldest cities in the UK (according to met office stats) are set to bring a taste of southern warmth to the UK and beyond, with the release of their reverb-drenched debut album – allegedly.

The band are playing Henry’s Cellar Bar on Thursday 7  December 2017 with Cow Cow Boogie.

The stuff that California dreams are made of, Surf Manchu, comprises four Scottish surf rock enthusiasts who have been bringing LA sunshine to the pubs and clubs of Scotland for the past three years. As soon as the energetic strains crash over the audience, they’re instantly deposited onto a beach during the height of sixties surf culture.

Surf Manchu has taken the subgenre and made it its own, creating five brand new tracks in homage to the surf rock greats. Stephen Carty, keys players, said:

“I love the relentless optimism and energy of surf music; the sounds of sixties surf and its various re-imaginings put the funk into punk and never fail to put a smile on the face of anyone listening.”

The Beast from the East is Surf Manchu’s first album, available in CD form or to download on Spotify.

The band is available for gigs throughout the world. Keep up-to-date with their adventures in surf here
