Hibs’ defender Efe Ambrose insists that today’s game against Hearts at Tynecastle is all about the result.

The pair meet for the third successive time in the Scottish Cup this afternoon with Hibs emerging triumphant on the previous two occasions.

Both ties went to replays at Easter Road but the Nigerian defender is not thinking about that possibility and is determined to win in Gorgie.

Speaking ahead of the game Ambrose said: “It’s all about the result, it’s a cup game and there’s no second chance, you just have to do what you have to do to get the game done.

“We’re not thinking about getting a replay, the most important thing is having a positive mind to go there and win, that’s what the gaffer has been telling us, that’s what we’ve been working on and we believe we can do it.

“We are excited, and the most important thing is preparing hard for the game because we know what’s at stake. It’s a very important game as well as it being a derby it’s also a cup game.

“We’ve played them twice now, we know how they are and how they play. We know it’s one of the best derbies and a cup game as well but we’re not looking at that. We’re looking at it as a football game and the most important thing is that we get a positive result out of it.”

“I always enjoy playing football, I don’t look at it as a derby, it’s just a game and one of those games that you have to play so I don’t put pressure on myself and we don’t put pressure on ourselves as a team.

“We just want to go onto the pitch and enjoy ourselves by getting a positive result.”
