Community councils are elected bodies set up with volunteer members who are either nominated or elected every five years. There are around 1200 in Scotland and 43 in Edinburgh.
One of the most influential spheres of their work relates to local planning matters. They are always notified of any planning applications in their local area as an affected body and have a right to say what they think about the applications.
Below you will find an alphabetical list of the community councils in Edinburgh after the October 2016 elections with as many of their up to date details as we can find for the newly appointed bodies. (It is not complete! so if you are involved with any of the community councils then please drop us a line firstname.lastname@example.org)
