The Gannochy Trust Innovation Award of The Royal Society of Edinburgh was established in 2003 to encourage and reward Scotland’s young innovators for work which benefits Scotland’s wellbeing.
Presented annually, the award is targeted at innovators aged 45 or under, and carries a £50,000 cash prize, a specially commissioned gold medal and serious recognition for what has been achieved.
The award seeks to encourage careers in the fields of science, technology and research which promote Scotland’s inventiveness internationally. It also recognises outstanding individual achievement which contributes to the common good of Scotland.
