Heriots and Boroughmuir met in a cross-Edinburgh derby at Goldenacre on Saturday. The teams went into the match separated by one point in Scottish Premier 1, the top division in club rugby. Boroughmuir opened the scoring, with a penalty after a couple of minutes, followed by a try 2 minutes later by ‘Muir’s No 5, Greg Scott.

After a bout of sustained pressure, Heriots scored a try through No. 4, Chukwuma Osazuwa. This was followed by another two tries for the forwards, before ‘Muir answered back with two tries before half time from No. 10 Leonard and No. 2 MacIntosh.

Half time score – Heriots 19, Boroughmuir 20

The second half was scoreless up until the 78th minute with ‘Muir probably just shading the possession and territorial stats.

A Heriots line out deep in the ‘Muir 22, lead to a rolling maul, from which No. 7 Struan Dewar, received the pass to enable him to cross the line for the winning score.

Final score – Heriots 24, Boroughmuir 20
