Alastair Shields is the Scottish Liberal Democrat Party candidate for Almond Ward.

Born and educated in Edinburgh, Alastair, 27, works in the city for a recruitment firm and has been active in previous election campaigns for the local party. He currently lives in Corstorphine and aims to continue the strong support for the Liberal Democrats in Almond as his candidacy comes in place of outgoing councillor and Lord Provost, George Grubb.
“I am immensely proud and honoured to be selected as the Liberal Democrat candidate for Almond”, Alastair comments. “With my fellow members placing their trust in me, I look forward to taking on this challenge and winning the support of the electorate.”
“Almond is an area where much activity is taking place, not least with the developments for the Forth Crossing and the possible renovations of the Barnton Hotel. It is also an area that needs great attention to provide services for the elderly and young people too. I relish the opportunity to participate in this.”
