This is what she told The Reporter:-

Councilllor Deidre Brock is the SNP councillor for the Leith Walk ward and is Convenor for Culture, Sport and Leisure. Born in Western Australia, Deidre grew up in Perth and studied at John Curtin University, achieving her BA in English. Accepted into the WA Academy of Performing Arts 3 year acting course in 1982, she moved to Sydney after graduation where she worked as an actor for ten years.
