A man who was arrested and charged in connection with a sexually motivated assault in Ratho has also been charged with other reported sexual offences.

As a result of enquiries into an incident where a 15-year-old girl jumped into the canal to escape an attack, the 18-year-old has been linked to seven other incidents, which happened within Ratho and the West of Edinburgh between July and October.

He will appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today.

Tomorrow evening at 5.30 we will have not just one but two police officers with us for a liveblog about policing in the west of the city. Superintendent David Carradice and Chief Inspector Murray Dykes will be joining us to talk about their road safety initiative and another Lothian and Borders Police initiative to reduce violence. Interesting that both of them have worked as motorcycle cops in the past! Send us your questions to theedinburghreporter@gmail.com or by joining in live via Twitter with the hashtag #askLBP or join us on our TERLive! section here.
