mind storm 3

C Venue C Aquila 1-26 August 12.05pm (50 Mins)

Experimental theatre about real-life stories and universal impulses, good and bad, Exposed is about the many impulses that drive human behaviour. Through an exciting mix of verbatim, physical theatre, projection, comedy and autobiography, it looks at how we restrict these impulses according to internal or external factors.

From a man who wants to scream in restaurants to a woman who wants to shake her baby to death, we see just some of the many impulses that people experience every day.

Exposed was born out of the company’s love of doing impulsive things, but it has been a long time in the making. Through a process involving workshopping, facilitating and durational improvisations, the company has woven real people’s stories, thoughts and feelings into one of their trademark physical ensemble movement pieces. The final product promises to deliver maximum impact, through a sensitive performance that is precise, energetic and thought-provoking.

Impulse Collective is a professional theatre company made up of five performers from different parts of the UK: Scotland, Yorkshire, Leicester, Nuneaton and London. They come together out of a shared love of devised theatre, technology, clowning and physical theatre.

The company is currently mentored by New Perspectives Theatre Company (Nottingham) as part of the StepUp Companies scheme 2013, and recently took part in a scratch event at Curve Theatre (Leicester) with Associate Director Suba Das. Impulse Collective is an associate company of Redbridge Drama Centre (London).
