On Saturday 14th June 2014 two award-winning science fiction authors Nnedi Okorafor and Ken MacLeod will be in conversation with Stuart Kelly, discussing Science Fiction and the Exploration of Dangerous Ideas and the freedom that science fiction writing offers, with reference to their own works, and with an audience Q & A afterwards.  A dram will be served to over 18s to toast the memory of Iain Banks.

Nnedi Okorafor is a Nigerian-American writer of science fiction, fantasy & speculative fiction.  She is a tenured professor at Chicago State University, and has written three acclaimed books for young adults and two for adults.

Ken MacLeod was born in Stornaway.  He specialises in hard science fiction and space opera.  His work explores socialist, communist and anarchist political ideas and singularities, divergent human cultural evolution and post-human cyborg resurrection.

This FREE event is organised by Scottish PEN and will be held in the Demonstration Room, Summerhall from 7 to 8pm, but you need to book as places are limited and sure to be popular. To book click here or go to Scottish PEN’s website.
