From the team behind the legendary Bongo Club Cabaret – the longest running and most successful late night variety show at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe – comes FLASH/BANG!

Launched at Scotland’s largest music festival, T in the Park, in the summer of 2012 and now appearing at Assembly Checkpoint every weekend of the Fringe, FLASH/BANG! is an unprecedented clubbing and live performance event – a club night led by DJs Rufus & Ben alongside walkabout and stage performances from the very best guest circus, sideshow and cabaret performers from across the Fringe.

Unlike a cabaret nightclub where the dancing has to stop to watch the acts or a cabaret with a compère who insists you sit down and pay attention, FLASH/BANG! is presented as a non-stop DJ set of Swing, Jive, Rockabilly & Rock’n’Roll tunes interspersed with video projections, walkabout performers and live stage performances from the cream of UK circus, dance and cabaret acts.

FLASH/BANG! will include Fire Performance, Trapeze, Angle Grinders, Burlesque, Acrobalance,Magic, Live Bands, Sword Swallowers, Jugglers, Dance Troupes, Contortionists, Singers,Escapology, Freakshow, Stilt Walkers, Hula Hoops, Giant Beach Balls and even the odd cabaret song from the DJs themselves! Nothing is set in stone at a FLASHBANG! gig and the acts are mixed in as effortlessly as the music, chosen to perform at just the right moment in the set to delight and dazzle the dancing crowd.

FLASH/BANG! is the latest project from Jaggy Events & Entertainment (formally Rhymes with Purple Productions), the team behind the hugely successful Cabaret Club at T in the Park since 2010, Dr Sketchy’s Anti-Art School – the original international live-art phenomenon since 2007 and the Glasgow Cabaret Festival since 2009.
