Police Scotland confirm ed this morning that a 23 year old man has been arrested and charged with the attempted murder and sexual assault of an 85 year old woman in Morningside Grove on Friday 11th July.
He is appearing at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today (Monday).
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police Scotland will continue to work with our partners to offer reassurance to the community and high visibility patrols will still be present in the area.
“Police would like to thank the public for their patience while we carried out enquiries in relation to this incident.”
