A deal has been struck between Edinburgh Leisure the council-owned company that runs the city’s gyms and swimming pools and Edinburgh Rugby who need to keep their players in peak fitness. Now the rugby aces will be able to use the facilities at Edinburgh Indoor Climbing Arena (EICA) and the fitness team there.

As an Official Fitness Partner of Edinburgh Rugby, the team will benefit from use of Edinburgh Leisures gyms and swimming pools, as well as fitness instruction.

The gym at the Edinburgh Indoor Climbing Arena (EICA): Ratho will serve as a key off-site base for the players for strength and conditioning and recovery exercise.

In addition, the partnership will enable both organisations to benefit from joint social media promotions and publicity, raising their profiles with the wide shared audiences of Edinburgh Leisure customers and Edinburgh Rugbys fan base.

Edinburgh Leisure, which manages 30 venues on behalf of City of Edinburgh Council, has expanded its corporate partnerships significantly in the past year, having teamed up with Speedo, Black and Lizars, ESPC and Volvo.

The not-for-profit organisation, which also delivers a number of award winning health intervention programmes, has invested in greatly improving its gym facilities in recent years. Now boasting some of the most state-of-the-art equipment in the capital on top of professional support, Edinburgh Leisure offers ideal facilities for the training of premier rugby players.
