2011_10 Police signs 5

PoliceĀ have confirmed the identity of the 65-year-old man who died following a road traffic collision on Frederick Street as Roderick Lakin from London.

Officers were called to the junction of Frederick Street and Princes Street at 10.45am on Wednesday 19 August following reports of a collision involving a bus and a pedestrian.

Roderick was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, then Western General Hospital where he sadly passed away on the evening of Friday 28 August.

Sergeant Keith Denholm of Road Policing said: “We offer our sincere condolences to Roderick’s friends and family at this sad time, and I’d like to thank the public for their continued support while our investigation into this collision continues.”
