Police have released CCTV images of a man they wish to trace in connection with a serious assault of a 34-year-old man.

The incident happened at around 7pm on Friday, September 4, within Newsbox, 86 South Clerk Street, Edinburgh.

Detectives are eager to trace the male pictured in the image, as they believe that he may be able to assist with their enquiries.

The man is described as white, 5 ft 11 inches to 6ft tall, in his late 20s, with a medium build and shaved/bald head. He was wearing a blue colored polo shirt, blue jeans and white trainers.

Detective Constable John McShane said: “We are keen to establish the identity of the man pictured in the CCTV images and would urge anyone who recognises him, or who has any other information which can assist with our investigation, to contact police as soon as possible.

“It is believed the male has the nickname of ‘Scooby’ and is believed to be from the Edinburgh area.”
