So everyone is now beginning to realise that Christmas is just next week and it may be time to go out and buy a real tree to decorate your house.

Then you ask yourself: “Where will I buy a real Christmas tree in Edinburgh?”

The answer is that there are lots of places to go and buy your tree! Here are some of our own suggestions.

We know that we have not found them all so please do tell us about the ones we have missed out. Add your suggestions below.

You will find Crimbotrees at the landmark Jenners Depository, with easy access and free parking on Balgreen Road, this could be the ideal location to purchase your Christmas tree in the capital.

christmas trees for sale at eric liddell centreDavid McMillan is selling trees in the car park of the Eric Liddell Centre at Holy Corner (Morningside Road). Larger trees over 6 feet are £60 and there is a £5 delivery charge.
Gorgie Farm on Dalry Road have a dedicated Facebook page for the sale of their Christmas trees.

They offer free delivery too, and Father Christmas is there sometimes (although clearly he is a bit busy elsewhere at this time of the year!)

In Stockbridge there is a site selling Christmas trees behind the Raeburn Hotel which is well signposted from Raeburn Place.

Tree2On Broughton Road just next to Tesco there is a pop up called Canonmills Christmas Trees on the site of the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Club.

Green Fir Christmas Trees sell Norman Fir Christmas trees online. Their trees are described as “bushy and full, right to the tip and are very even all the way up.” Contact them on 0131 618 2875 and do mention us when you call.

In Seafield on the main road next to the Seafield Crematorium there is a temporary site selling Norway Spruce, Lodge Poles, Noble Fir or Scots Pine.

leith links Christmas tree siteOn Leith Links at 8 Claremont Park there is a pop up which calls itself ‘Christmas Trees Edinburgh’.

In Portobello you can buy your Christmas tree at Porty Hardware, Portobello High Street.

Caring Christmas Trees use the sales to generate funds for Bethany Christian Trust’s Edinburgh Winter Care Shelter. They sell the trees from a variety of locations across the city. Click on the link below to find your nearest outlet or the Tree Order Hotline is 0845 111 8733, and the lines are open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.

Their website explains: “Caring Christmas Trees are great for the environment, they produce oxygen when they are growing and when recycled after Christmas via a kerbside collection or at your local recycling centre they are as near to 100% Carbon Neutral as you’ll ever get.”

In Corstorphine there are three outlets:

On the main road next to the Harp Hotel there is a drive in which allows you to go in choose your tree, get it put into a net and then drive off.IMG_3017

IMG_3021Further along St John’s Road just past the Zoo on the way into town there is another Christmas tree outlet which is conveniently drive in/drive out.
