Dancers from the London and Edinburgh branches of the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society perform a traditional ceilidh dance

The dancers from the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society have been helping Flybe to spread some cheer at Canary Wharf and focus attention on the airline’s flights to Edinburgh and Belfast City by dancing during lunchtime in Canada Square Park.

Dressed in full traditional attire they were joined by Ajendance the All Ireland Champions who treated passers-by to traditional Irish dancing. Dancers from the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society at London City Airport

Vincent Hodder, Flybe’s Chief Revenue Officer, comments: “These talented dancers should certainly catch the attention and imagination of city workers as we remind them that they don’t have to travel far from their offices to fly to key destinations across the UK. Our flights from London City Airport to Edinburgh and Belfast in particular only take around 90 minutes – so departing from the heart of London, busy travellers can fly to Aberdeen, Belfast City, Edinburgh, Exeter and Paris Charles de Gaulle on multi-frequency weekday flights in the same amount of time as many people spend on their daily commute. And that’s not all – you can fly to Amsterdam for weekend breaks and our new peak summer service to Rennes starts in July.”

Caitlin Wilkinson, from the Edinburgh branch of the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society, added, added: “It was great to show London workers what they’re missing up in Edinburgh. It’s easy to travel between the two cities and there is so much to benefit from culturally by making the journey. Day trips to the English capital from Edinburgh couldn’t be easier.”

Flybe flies from London City to Belfast City airport up to four times a day, and to Edinburgh up to eight times a day, with prices from £39.99 one way, including all taxes and charges. Flights are available for booking at www.flybe.com
