This weekend the inaugural FLY Open Air festival will take place at Edinburgh’s Princes Street Gardens.

The Scottish capital’s first inner city open-air house and techno festival will take place on Saturday 24 September at the Ross Bandstand.

It promises to be quite the party with acts as diverse as German duo Booka Shade, Paris based Motor City Drum Ensemble, Amsterdam’s Detroit Swindle,  Glasgow’s Harri & Domenic and Edinburgh’s very own rising star and Radio 1 regular, Theo Kottis all taking to the stage across the day.

After launching three years ago as a weekly residency at Edinburgh’s Cabaret Voltaire, forward thinking Edinburgh based music promoters FLY, have gone from strength to strength, holding court at world renowned clubs like Barcelona’s La Terrazza and hosting regular successful events at Glasgow’s Sub Club in that time.

FLY director Tom Ketley said, “We are excited to launch the first FLY Open Air festival here in Edinburgh. The Ross Bandstand has the potential to be one of the best venues in the world with the stunning backdrop of Edinburgh Castle but at present is rarely used for events. We want to change that by bringing the world’s top acts to our city and really put Edinburgh on the map as a live music destination.”

“The response to the event has been overwhelming. We are approaching a complete sell-out with over 45% of ticket sales coming from outside of Scotland and we can’t wait to welcome people to the festival for the first time”
With only a handful of ticket remaining, make sure you don’t miss out on signing the summer off in style at FLY Open Air festival on Saturday 24th September.

A limited number of tickets for the event are still available to purchase from the Resident Advisor website here.
