Police have arrested and charged two men in connection with a break-in to a church in Raeburn Cresent, Whitburn, on August 13th.

The 33 and 37 year olds were traced following an investigation led by officers from the Community Investigation and Proactive Units. One of the males was also charged with drug supply offences.

The investigation also led to the recovery of the majority of the property stolen.

Both men have been reported to the Procurator Fiscal and were scheduled to appear before Livingston Sheriff Court yesterday.

Constable David Briggs of Bathgate Police Station said: “I wish to thank to the members of the local community who assisted us with our inquiries.

“Tracing those involved in housebreaking remains a priority for Police Scotland and we treat all reports extremely seriously.

“Rest assured that we will always act on information passed to us in an appropriate manner and I would urge anyone who wants to report a crime to contact 101.”
