The Edinburgh Police Choir have a vacancy for a new Musical Director as their current MD is to retire.

The choir is based in Edinburgh and haas 50 members. They have won many awards and have a reputation for exceptional performance, quality singing and they can sing a wide variety of modern popular music.

They play about 15 concerts per year in and around the capital, and practice each Sunday evening in Edinburgh. A modest remuneration would be paid to the successful candidate.

Applicants must ideally fulfil the following criteria –

A musician with wide experience of performing and conducting a choir.
Running Rehearsals and motivating singers
Able to score and arrange music
Piano/Keyboard player (for rehearsal and teaching purposes).
Knowledge of vocal techniques and teaching.
Good relevant contacts in the music industry
Willingness to work on a wide-ranging repertoire and further develop the choir’s range of music
The choir is managed by a committee of members who will advise and assist.

Applicants will be invited to conduct a session with the choir before a decision is made.
