The green light has been given for the multi-million pound Edinburgh Marina.

 

The world-class 300-berth marina at Granton Harbour will be the focal point for the regeneration the area which is less than 2.5 miles from the city centre.

Over 2,000 new homes, including affordable housing and a retirement living complex, a 180-bed luxury conference and spa hotel, a healthcare centre and shopping will be created in the £500m project.

Kevin Fawcett for the developer, Granton Central Developments, said: “This is an important milestone in the regeneration of Granton Harbour and is a huge boost for Edinburgh.

“As well as the construction jobs, this development is projected to provide over 900 new permanent jobs in stunning surroundings with views over the Forth.

“The marina will also provide a vital boost to the Edinburgh economy and Scotland’s marine tourism.”

  1. Pity mr Duncan did not press on Granton central developments the ease in which the existing rail line to powderhall could reopen creating a fast line straight into mid Leith walk and beyond …………
