The sketch troupe ‘Fish Pie!’ formed naturally and inevitably during the 2016 EdFringe, from cast members of the hit parody ‘Five Go Off On One!’. Hour after hour holed up in a dingy flat with neither TV nor Wifi quickly led to the creation of a barrage of comic characters, who soon made their appearances in the five star (Varsity) Cambridge sketch show ‘Laugh, Why Don’t You?’ and the four star (BathImpact) Bath Fringe sketch show ‘Two Parallel Columns’.
‘Laugh, Why Don’t You?’ is an hour of gimmick-free absurdity (what’s that? A sketch show that doesn’t include five minutes of ‘theme development’ at the beginning and end? Huzzah!). Silliness is the word of the day, as pop culture, history, everyday experiences and brand new comic characters are lined up and let rip in the beautifully atmospheric Caves.
Late night comedy at its best, from an experienced team raised in both the experimental comedy scene of the University of Bath and the highly honed, world-famous comedy scene at the University of Cambridge.
