Hibs’ Head Coach Neil Lennon believes that Aberdeen will provide a ‘real test’ for his team at Easter Road this afternoon.

Lennon has been impressed with the Dons under Derek McInnes but after last week’s performance against champions Celtic he insists that he won’t accept any excuses from his players and he is demanding that they retain that level of consistency.

Speaking ahead of the game Lennon said: “I’ve been really impressed with Aberdeen and what Derek (McInnes) has done over the last three or four years.

They have lost Niall McGinn and Jonny Hayes and Ryan Jack but Derek has recruited really well. It will be a real test for us

“That’s where we want to get to but we have a bit of work to do first but we have started that process to get into the top three or four bracket.

“The performance against Celtic didn’t surprise me. The players have no excuses now for any abject performances.

” The way they handled the game was everything I wanted.

“We have to retain that level of consistency and if we do we will have a great season.

“We have three real games coming up with Aberdeen, Celtic and Hearts and then Motherwell and Kilmarnock to follow.”

Lennon also provided an update on his squad.

He continued: “David Gray is back training so the only absentees are the long term boys, Darren (McGregor) and Liam (Fontaine).

“Stokey’s (Anthony stokes) has had a bit of a virus but we are hoping he will be available.

“The lads from international duty are back and in good fettle.”
