Hibs’ midfielder Danny Swanson took part in the club’s Golf Day, sponsored by Belmont Suzuki, on Wednesday afternoon and says that he is hoping to be back in training next week although he insists that he will not be rushing back to action.

The lifelong Hibs’ fan  has been nursing an injury and has missed the side’s last four matches – victories over Hearts, Motherwell, Kilmarnock and Dundee.

Swanson is happy to bide his time and continue to take the advice of Head of Football Medicine and Science Nathan Ring, as well as the rest of the medical staff, to ensure that when he is back in the team that he is fit and raring to go.

The international break allows gives hi an extra week to prepare for Hibs’ next match which is against St Johnstone at Easter Road next Saturday.

Speaking at Archerfield Links, Danny said: “I’m getting there. I thought that I would maybe be back this week, but it’s an injury that I’ve had a few times before so I know what it takes to come back from it.

“Mentally it’s quite hard, but I should hopefully be back next week.

“I’ve got to keep in mind that it is a long season so I’m not going to rush myself back. The physios at Hibs are excellent and they know what’s best, so I’ll just keep doing what I’m told and work hard in the gym to come back in good shape.”
