Stewart Dickson has been confirmed as a member of a new management team for British Speedway’s major events.

Dickson is part of a team of three looking after six meetings throughout the UK.

The Scot, who is team manager at Glasgow Tigers, will be joined by Sheffield promoter Damien Bates and Somerset’s Debbie Hancock.

They are working on sponsorship and the marketing of the series and Rob Godfrey, the British Speedway Promoters’ Association (BSPA) vice-chairman, said major events are important to the revenue stream within the sport.

The Premiership Riders’ Championship at Poole on May 9 kick-starts the series.

The British Final at Belle Vue’s National Speedway Stadium on June 11 is another.

Redcar hosts the Championship Fours on July 1 and the Championship Pairs is pencilled in for Somerset on July 20, the night before the British Grand Prix at Cardiff.

And the Championship Riders’ individual (formerly PLRC) is back at Sheffield in September.

A date and venue for the Premiership Pairs will be confirmed at a later date.
