Theatre – Allan Stewart’s Big Big Variety Show, King’s Theatre

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

27 February –  3 March 2018| King’s Theatre

Allan Stewart’s Big Big Variety Show is back at the King’s for another fabulous night of comedy and song, promising the best in entertainment and the biggest laughs in town.

Every year, Allan raises the bar a little higher and this year it’s to the roof with seventies soul sensations The Three Degrees headlining the Big Big Variety Show. The Three Degrees – Helen Scott, Valerie Holiday and Freddie Pool – are world-renowned for their soulful voices, beautiful gowns, fabulous stage shows and of course their hit songs including “When will I see you again”, “Dirty Ol’ Man”, “Take Good Care Of Yourself”.

One of the entertainment industry’s most talented performers, Fred MacAulay, brings his unique style of observational wit to the line-up. Having presented MacAulay and Co. on BBC Radio Scotland for almost 18 years and with a string of TV appearances, Fred’s on-air witticisms and on-screen reputation are the product of years of experience on the live circuit, including a stint as the first ever-Scottish compere at The Comedy Store in London.

Variety entertainer Phil Butler makes his King’s Theatre debut with his versatile mix of comedy and magic. A popular favourite on the touring circuit, Phil has had the great honour of entertaining the British forces at home and abroad and was the first comedian to perform on the front line in Afghanistan, receiving the Operational Service Medal for his time there. He has written with many comedians, most notably, the winner of ‘America’s Got Talent’, ventriloquist Paul Zerdin.

Grant Stott, star villain of the King’s panto, radio and TV presenter and budding ‘ac-tor’ will be joining the gang to charm the crowd with more tales from behind the mic, on the stage and in front of the camera. And with Grant in the house, there’s every likelihood folk legends The MacRobert Brothers will make a welcome return.
