Edinburgh Monarchs’ new signing Max Ruml flew into Edinburgh and said: “I’m here to do a job.”

The American actually jetted into Scotland on his on his 21st birthday but California-born Ruml said he was not a party animal.

He added: “I wouldn’t have been doing anything special, certainly no big party. Maybe a nice meal with my girlfriend, but I’m here to do a job.”

The USA World Cup rider has work to do to complete building his bikes which are in the Midlands.

But the runner-up in last year’s USA National Championships joins Matt Williamson, Ricky Wells and Josh Pickering in Britain.

Erik and Mark Riss arrive on Sunday and Joel Andersson on Monday.
