Adapted by David Greig,
Directed and Designed by Stewart Laing

As a challenging taster leading up to the explosive Edinburgh International Festival programme, The Royal Lyceum Theatre is staging the Scottish debut adaptation by Artistic Director, David Greig, of August Strindberg’s brilliant tragicomedy, Creditors.

Directed and designed by Tony Award-winning Stewart Laing, it relates a darkly funny, twisted portrait of an intense sexual triangle.

Young artist, Adolph, anxiously awaits the return of his brilliant wife Tekla to their seaside retreat. As he waits, he seeks solace in the words of a mysterious new friend, Gustav, who offers advice that soon turns to destruction as old wounds are opened, insecurities are laid bare, and former debts are settled in this tight spiral of psychological manipulation, love, betrayal and revenge.
