A concert will be held on 4 May 2018 to raise funds for the Old Royal High School Preservation Trust (RHSPT) to help them with possible legal costs in the coming months.

RHSPT have planning permission to use the building on Regent Road which has been empty for 50 years as a music school. But the organisation has no legal title to the former school.

The tenant of the school is the hotel developer DHP whose application for planning permission was refused. This matter will now be decided by The Scottish Ministers later this year when costs for all parties will be incurred.

The Yehudi Menuhin Music School are giving a fundraising concert at Canongate Kirk on 4 May 2018 to raise funds for RHSPT. The programme will include music by Mozart, Schumann, Chopin, Rachmaninov and Debussy. All proceeds will go to the RHSPT.
