Neil Lennon added to the speculation regarding his future at the club by failing to attend the weekly pre-match press conference ahead of Sunday’s game against Rangers.

The conference had been due to start at 12.15 and was then put back to 1pm however Lennon’s assistant Garry Parker eventually faced the media and explained that the Head Coach was suffering from the flu.

Marvin Bartley had earlier claimed that the players had not seen Lennon since the midweek derby defeat at Tynecastle.

After the game, Lennon branded a number of players as ‘unprofessional’ due to their wrong choice of footwear which saw some slipping in the early minutes.

Hibs have had a very good season for a team coming up from the Championship and unless Motherwell produce a shock in the Scottish Cup final, Easter Road will host European football next season thanks to an almost certainĀ fourth place finish.

Most supporters are happy with the finish however Lennon described fourth place as ‘unacceptable’.

Hibs fans have taken to social media with many believing that the Northern Irishman will depart the club and Scottish Cup winning legend Alan Stubbs has been suggested as a possible replacement although many believe that would be a backward step.
