Craig Levein is showing little sign of easing up his rebuilding of his Hearts squad with the announcement today of another signing, Australian international Oliver Bozanic. The 29-year-old midfielder has signed a two-year contract at Tynecastle after leaving Melbourne City in his homeland.

Bozanic has played seven times for Australia, including the World Cup finals in Brazil four years ago but he didn’t make the Aussie squad for this year’s competition in Russia.

Bozanic spent three years at English side Reading.

On the other side of the coin it appears Hearts fans favourite David Milinkovic is unlikely to appear again in a maroon shirt. The French born winger, who impressed many with his displays whilst on loan from Genoa last season, has failed to agree personal terms to make his move permanent. This has come as a huge disappointment to the Maroon Army as Hearts had agreed a transfer fee with Genoa. Milinkovic scored twice against Celtic last December as the Maroons demolished champions Celtic’s unbeaten run with a 4-0 hammering.

Finally, Hearts veteran defender Aaron Hughes has put pen to paper on a one-year extension to his current deal and will remain an important part of the Hearts squad for the season ahead.
