SGB Championship: Newcastle Diamonds 47, Berwick Bandits 43

Berwick Bandits pushed Newcastle Diamonds hard but lost 47-43 in the SGB Championship on Tyneside.

Bandits, who cut down Diamonds 57-32 in the Borders on Saturday, were only two points adrift at 43-41 going into the final heat.

But Ludvig Lindgren kept his cool to win the final race with guest Nico Covatti in third position for a 4-2 to secure the win.

Lindgren top scored with 15 points and Covatti finished with ten for the home side.

Aaron Summers was best for Bandits with 14 points.
