Hibs are in the Faroe Islands ahead of tomorrow’s Europa League first qualifying round second leg against NSI Runavik.

Defender Paul Hanlon did not travel due to a ‘niggle’, whilst striker Simon Murray, who came on as a second half substitute in the first leg will also miss the game as he is in talks with South African side Bidvest Wits.

Murray joined Hibs last summer and after a successful start moved to his boyhood club Dundee in the January window. It is understood that a fee of ÂŁ150,000 has been agreed between the clubs.

John McGinn, whose absence in the first match caused much speculation amongst the Hibs’ fans, returned to the squad and is expected to start.

The Scotland international has been the subject of two bids from Celtic whilst a number of English clubs are also known to be interested.

That would rule him out of any Champions League qualifers although he would be available for group stage matches should Celtic progress.

Barring a monumental disaster, Hibs will progress to the next round where they will face Asteras Tripol from Greece.

Hibs will go into that tie knowing their potential opponents in the third qualifying round as that draw takes place in Nyon on Monday.
