So many traders! But who can you trust?
With so many builders, roofers, electricians, plumbers (the list goes on…) out there, it is difficult to know who you can trust to do a good job, charge a fair fee and put you – the customer – first. So, when you have a leaky tap, a cranky car or you need to make changes to your home, where do you start?
Well Edinburgh Trusted Trader should be your first port of call. For a start, the scheme is run by Trading Standards, backed by the City of Edinburgh Council and supported by Police Scotland, with the aim to put a stop to doorstep crime and unreliable traders. Secondly the traders on the scheme have gone through an extremely rigorous vetting process conducted by Trading Standards, they adhere to a strict code of practice and are reviewed by their customers.
Not only that, but the scheme has a dedicated team of professionals monitoring the traders and the work that they do to make sure that they are keeping their promises, ensuring that you, the customer, stays happy from start to finish.
Finding the right trader is simple. Visit www.trustedtrader.scot/edinburgh or call 0131 513 9921 and tell us where in Edinburgh you are based. You can then pick from a list of our top traders that are closest to you and able to do the work you need. You can read how happy their customers are and look at pictures of their work. Once you have made your decision you can email them for a quote or speak to them directly.
When the work is done, you can give them a 1 to 5-star rating and tell us how they performed. If for any reason you are not 100% satisfied, then the team will step in to sort things out. Luckily this doesn’t happen very often, but it is good to know that the Trusted Trader team support the customer as much as they support their traders in the event of a problem.
The scheme has been growing in strength since launching in 2015 and is designed to give peace of mind to those who need a trader, by providing a ‘go to’ list of traders with a proven track record, dedicated to getting the job done and putting their customers first.
