This month there is a whole week devoted to cocktails. This will involve tasting, sampling, learning how to make sophisticated drinks and having a bit of fun in the Cocktail Village or in one of the 80 bars around Edinburgh.

Here are just some of the cocktails you might be tempted by :

Signature cocktail from Usquabae at the West End. The Tailor-Made Old Fashioned features Wemyss Blended Malt, Simple Syrup and Bitters – all made to your taste.
The Gin Basil Smash is available at the Grand Café at The Scotsman and uses Tanqueray Gin, Lemon Juice, Sugar Syrup and Basil Leaves.
This is the St-Germain Spritz from Rabble. St-Germain topped with Prosecco and Soda with a Lemon Twist.
The KG Collins is on the menu at Hotel du Vin. Basil infused Kirsty’s Arbikie Gin, Creme de Myrtille, Lemon Juice and Gomme topped with soda water
The 21st Century Punch is the special offering at Dine. Minus 33 Gin with Lemongrass and Ginger cordial, vanilla scented Oleo saccharum topped with cinnamon soda.
The Spirit of Adventure features Pickering’s Pink grapefruit and Lemongrass Liqueur, Lemon, Thyme and is topped with Schofferhofer and is on the menu at Brewhemia.
The Black Ivy Ripple features Tanqueray Gin, Edinburgh gin, raspberry, lemon juice, cranberry juice and gomme
This is a Daim Good Martini and you will find it at Akva. The ingredients include OP Anderson, Café Patron, Espresso, caramel syrup and is garnished with a Daim bar.
